  • a damn, it was strg-shift+a, not strg+alt+a…

  • thanks for your reply, but it wasn’t quite the thing i was looking for, because it works for nearly every NLE but AVID’s. why has always AVID the role of the special guy? it bores me.
the sorensen thing is a quite good idea, but i thought it would be much cheaper to just buy plugins than one or more licenses of sorensen.

i found a plugin from adobe, but it renders out in the H623 codec, which looks too crappy for our uses.
the next thing is with realtime or faster export. not nearly in the reach of realtime.
    a 10sec sequence took 50sec to export.
so i’m a little stuck now.

  • mmmh… i always use strg+alt+a and the select the track.
it’s not quite the solution your were searching for but it’s fast.

are all your files on the same drive?
if not unmount the drive which contains the 15/1s media files.

we always use seperate drives for our offline and online edits. so we just unmount the drive with the offline resolution and online the sequence to the online drive. then we cut the audiotracks of the offline sequence under it. done.

shaky? is the whole image shaking like a camera shaking or ar the movements jittering?
    little more informations please.
though it sounds like a field order problem to me. try to change your field order in your transcoding programm. maybe it helps.

i don’t know if avids pan&zoom can handle alphas, but i know for sure that
the avx plug in ‘Moving Picture’ by Stagetools can.
Shouldn’t be to hard to find it on the net. It’s about 199$ per license (with a rotation option it’s about 268$).

October 18, 2006 at 2:28 pm in reply to: Anamorphic conversion to 16×9

that’s what i wanted to know for a long time!
if i just scale the image down in height to 75% then i always see a litte ‘step’ in the middle of the picture at the top or bottom (i know its because of the interlaced lines of a frame). so i have to crop it for 2 pixels (one is not enough as i experienced) top and bottom. this kills some more lines of my imaget and this results in a not 100% true 16:9 letterbox format.

do i really have to downscale it by 75%, because i think, what i see is an underscan image which shows more than the viewers will ever see. so shouldn’t it be enough to scale it down about 85% (i don’t know if this is the correct percentage)

would be cool if someone ever handeled this ‘problem’

October 18, 2006 at 2:17 pm in reply to: Set the wrong tape name then batch digitized

Do you have both tapes in your tape-list?
if not, you’ll have to create the non-existing one. (open digitize tool and open the tape menu)
then mark all the wrong named clips, righ-click them, modify and set source to the corresponding tape.
(all in all it’s the process amheus already described)
