for me it works fine when i hold shift and klick the V1 button in front of the track and drag it up or down.
whith this i seperated my audio and video track with the TC track in between them.

i have selected a bin and a drive also.
weird thing is: it worked until last week.
maybe there are some wrong audio settings? as i said befor, i get a peak in the audio tool, so the cables are connected…

May 22, 2007 at 1:31 pm in reply to: how to use pan and scan?

i just can second Pixel monkey.
the avid pan and zoom effect sucks.
it crushed my effect so often when i onlined a show.
moving picture by stagetool is by far the best to use within the avid.

March 5, 2007 at 4:18 pm in reply to: importing video question

i haven’t tried this way, but i think its kind of logic:

import it with rescaling, because if you don’t you will have a 320×240 image on your PAL/NTSC screen.
when you’re done editing and will export it again with the size of 320×240 it will scale the whole PAL/NTSC image down, which scales your original footage even smaller.

  • if we have such a case in our company we either copy the complete tape (digibeta) onto a nwe one with a new generated timcode or
another way would be(this is a dirty way) to just mark the tape as a tc-jump tape(so that erveryone is aware) and then when it comes to batch just roll over the tc-break that the avid won’t even get the chance to wind the tape into nirvana.

February 10, 2007 at 6:22 pm in reply to: Media Compsoer 12.1 on XP?

we updated our old MC 1000 V11.x to the Version 12 and while the avid guy was at our company i asked him about exact that ‘problem’.
he said that the meridien hardware is not supported by winodws xp professionel and it is not possible to run your mc 12.x with this system.
by now we bought two new media composer software versions with mojo sdi. this is perfectly running and hell yeah, they are so much faster than our old mc1000 (though i miss it a little bit)
