i learned just a day ago that some encoders crop 2 or 3 lines (depends on the encoding program) from each the top and the bottom of your images. so if this happens u will end up with your desired format.

you’ll have to unselect the tracks you dont want to be corrected.
if you want to correct a clip on V2 just select this track. everything else will stay uncorrected.riot

October 3, 2006 at 10:13 am in reply to: Quicktime Refenrence Export takes extremely longfirst i want to thank you for all the answers, there where some really good tips with them!
@maverick: sorry for not first searching the post within the forum, but i was really pissed by that problem, because i tried to get the show on a dvd for a week now (i dont have a dead line :-)).
@epontius: i never heard of this cropping-phenomenon. so from now on i will have an eye on this!
@dave schweitzer: my specs: im from germany, so working in PAL. software: win xp pro, avid xpress pro 4.5, dvdit 6 (tryout) i will buy it when i’m a master in encoding and authoring (so this will give me some time to earn money for the program). my computer is a pentium4 1,8Ghz with 1GB Ram and a (local) 250GB HDD where the OMF files are located.
@bouke and the others: i found the problem which took it so long to export the QT Ref file. Please dont hurt me, ok? ALL the music tracks i used where at 44.1 kHz. My project is at 48kHz. I just imported them with the wrong sample rate. Never happend to me before, that`s why i dind’t check it.
again thank you very much.

October 2, 2006 at 7:34 pm in reply to: Quicktime Refenrence Export takes extremely longin fact i do have a lot of cc and fx on my clips (to be honest the complete show is modified with an aged film effect).
but it is only the audio export which takes very long.
i get two files, one mov-file which looks to me being an link cause it is never lager than 1MB.
it’s the audio file which gets up to 700MB. a little large for just being an link…riot

August 9, 2006 at 2:19 pm in reply to: the best and fast way to move a project with media to another pcjust can second alex’ post. its the easiest way to do it.
open media tool open; sort by project (crtl+e) and consolidate the project-related files to desired drive which you then connect to another system. that’s it for the media files. project data must be copied seperately. but this is just a little folder.rock on

i think it means, that avid wants to capture with 16bit, but you camera plays just 12bit audio. try to change the settings of your camcorder

this is weird. first i found out, that if i remove the camery from the firewire card everything works fine within the avid software.
after that i changed the firewire cable and now i can use both devices (harddrive and camcorder) at the same time.only thing is, that my camcorder (panasonic nv-gs 11) is still not detected by the avid software (xpress pro 4.5)
when i deinstalled the xpress pro version and installed the xpress dv Free, i could control the camera by remote, but when i tried to capture video and audio, it stopped after 4 seconds with an error “lost signal”.can anybody help me out?

thanks for your answers guys.
the reasons for channel condition red you mentioned are the same that came to my mind when i thought about this ‘black hawk down’ as we call it for fun. i just thought, there is a more technical explanation for the hole thing, because, to be honest, i have to explain these problems to some people wich have no expereince in technical things and i just want to blow them away with technical terms 🙂so i will have to clean the heads more often from now on. but, debe, don’t you think it’s a bit often to clean the heads every day?
anyway
thanks
