If you have already created the sequence as a stereo sequence, then simply changing the mapping on the sequence settings will not work.
What you need to do is either create a new sequence with the new audio settings already set, or after changing the settings of the sequence go to the Audio Mixer and re-assign the tracks 3 & 4. You can do this by right clicking on the track buttons to the left of the mixer.Hope that helps.

Another endorsement for that codec. It is awesome. Not sure if the LHE can downconvert to SD, but that is definitely the way to go.

March 28, 2007 at 12:29 pm in reply to: 2 questions for an editor migrating from AVID to FCPI have used this feature a lot, sometimes not only merging audio and video but multiple camera-angles as well.
Never a problem. For the audio it was Fostex BWF converted to QuickTimes with Sebsky Tools. And the video was
2 HDW-900s with AUX code going to all units including the slate. There was however a slight delay in tc between
the Fostex and the cameras and the visual display on the slates so I just used the AUX TC field and it all worked
perfectly. -
I can certainly say that I’ve had none of those issues what so ever. However I never continue on with projects started in different versions of FCP. I always wait until it is finished until I switch. This might have something to do with your problems.
For me version 5.14 has been one of the most stable releases I’ve ever used. So far not one crash. -
I seriously doubt that Apple will ever make a version of FCP that costs 10K.
That would be insanely stupid. My guess is they will tweak the interface with some requested features.
Make it even more stable.
Integrate the new colour correction tools.
Make media management something you can trust. It will be interesting to see what happens to SoundTrack and Motion two programs
that really haven’t lived up to the hype and are in desperate need of attention. -
All is A-Okay here on Dual G5 PPC with Decklink Extreme. Just don’t know if the 1 frame error has been fixed on Edit to Tape yet as I haven’t a Digi Beta to test it with.
One thing I do notice is that it still causes iPhoto to crash if you edit a photo with Decklink Video Desktop switched on. I wonder why this is so hard to fix? Must be an Apple thing. However on a more positive not I see that iChatAV no longer complains that the camera is taken by another device. Which is handy for me as I do a fair bit of collaborative editing.

March 2, 2007 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Frame Accuracy (or lack of it) on edit to tape in FCPI think you’ll find the 5.6.2 drivers will solve the problem. It did for us.

I wish instead of the read me saying bug fixes and stability improvements it would detail what has been fixed.
I’ve been waiting for the one frame out error on edit to tape to be sorted out but still haven’t heard if this bug has been fixed. Any news? -
OK so still no fix for Edit to Tape problems. Looks like I’ll stick with Drivers 5.6.2 then.
Thanks for the reply. -
Ok you don’t need any clips in the timeline. What you are about to do will create new clips with the audio and video merged.
First you need to set the timecode/aux code for your clips. Open them up in the viewer and then go to: MODIFY/TIMECODE enter in the timecode and hit enter. Once you have done this for all your clips select both the audio and video clips that are to be put together and right click on them and select MERGE CLIPS a window will appear with options for what to merge using. TIMECODE, IN POINTS etc. Select TIMECOME and your done! Hope this helps.
