G5 2.0G
Ram 2G
OS 10.4.8
QT 7.1.3I had no problems yesterday with the then “latest” ver. (forget which)

March 10, 2007 at 3:17 pmI see NOW (might be a good idea to put it on the website and not make us d/l before we get the info) that it is good only for PCIe machines. How do i get the previous drivers?
thanks,

March 10, 2007 at 3:22 pmI guess i was wrong with the above. According to both the manual and the read-me stuff (though it is not specific that it works with PCI-X i don’t think) it SHOULD work.
again,

March 10, 2007 at 4:16 pmI fired up this morning and all was fine with 5.7. I upgraded to 6.0 and all is broken. I uninstalled 5.7 and all things BM related. I reinstalled a backup copy of 5.7 and now that is broken. Same b&w NTSC with “wavy” video.
I have an edit Monday morning. Need to resolve this ASAP.
thanks,

March 10, 2007 at 5:12 pmthis may be a stupid suggestion, but did you check the decklink control panel in system preferences to make sure output is set to composite out ntsc instead of yrb (yuv?)
that’s usually the the cause of b&w after an upgrade – it resets to yuv -

March 10, 2007 at 5:32 pmHey Paul,
I have the yuv signal going into a Beta Deck then composite out to NTSC monitor. UPDATE – I shut all down for a half hour with 5.7 installed and now it works fine. I’m not venturing into 6.0 till I hear more. I’m not even too sure what it does for PPC non-Intel machines anyhow.

March 14, 2007 at 10:11 pmAll is A-Okay here on Dual G5 PPC with Decklink Extreme. Just don’t know if the 1 frame error has been fixed on Edit to Tape yet as I haven’t a Digi Beta to test it with.
One thing I do notice is that it still causes iPhoto to crash if you edit a photo with Decklink Video Desktop switched on. I wonder why this is so hard to fix? Must be an Apple thing. However on a more positive not I see that iChatAV no longer complains that the camera is taken by another device. Which is handy for me as I do a fair bit of collaborative editing.
