  • Hey Dave thanks for the reply

what i was saying is that it started as HDV 50i in FCP but was sent to Color and rendered back at ProRes 108050i 25fps so going into AE it is not HDV anymore.

Yes I am on CS5 as well

    thanks

November 18, 2010 at 7:50 pm in reply to: audio not in sync during playback on 12-core

sorry wrote that on my iphone!

just got a new 12-core and playback on a 1080 HDV 50i project is not sync. I exported a small clip and in quicktime its totally fine. I have a BMD 3d extreme but my audio is going from the line out on the tower at the moment until i can get studio monitors setup.

The offset i am guessing is because of this but i know in the past i have used fcp and had synced playback from the line out.

    any ideas?

I know its not a speed issues because i have a new 12 core tons of ram & an internal RAID 0 8tb

    thanks

November 17, 2010 at 5:09 am in reply to: HDlink Pro 3D – HDMI 1.4 compatible?

hello just reading this thread after doing a search for hdlink and I have some confusion.

Today I got this combination of items for my new 12-core and want to know best setup practices in relation to this thread. What i should be aware of with these items and answer some questions i have hopefully.

    Here is my setup:
    2.66 12-Core/120GB SSD/32 GB RAM/8TB Internal RAID 0)
ATI 5770 (Hoping to do resolve soon w/ hopefully the Nvidea 285+120 replacements to save money compared to the new 4000)
    Decklink 3D
    HDLINK 3D DisplayPort
    HP Dreamcolor
    Panasonic VT-25 3D 50″ Plasma

    1) I am going DisplayPort out of the HDLINK into the dreamcolor in REC. 709 color space and a slight adjustment on the Dreamcolor’s black level – HOWEVER I am not seeing a very good pluge when i put up 1080i bars out of FCP. Is there anyone out there who knows what HDLINK Settings I should have??

    2) In terma og going out to the Plasma as well as a client monitor what is the best way to do this in order to match the Dreamcolor with best quality in order to calibrate and match?

Any help or advice from people would be a big help!

    cheers

November 16, 2010 at 5:18 pm in reply to: fcp 6 media manage to fcp 7 color?

    thanks for the replies guys,

Shane just to clarify – they media managed only the sequence wry the trailer because I don’t want the whole film’s project and all of its content just the trailer ft now and possibly the finished film later. is this ok instead of duplicator the entire project and putting on a drive?
when I render out of color for DVD I assume it will be prores but for the DVD in that it’s 50i do I need to do any conversions?
    thanks

  • Hey Manual

so i read the article in thep ast but read it again as well as all of the links in the article itself but I am still curious what if any difference there is between HDMI 1.3/4 and display port.

I ask because I am debating whether to get the HDLINK 3d display port OR the AJA HDP2 for use with the HP Dreamcolor – this is for color correction purposes and having the highest possible quality (10bit) is very important!

    thanks
    sean
