what are the speeds on one of those (same 350MB sec as internal raid 0) and the expense of a 6-8 TB
also how much is the PCIe eSata your are talking about – trying to watch $$$ on storage since I am dropping so much on the 13-core & 32gb RAM!!
thanks

ahhh ok got it.
How would you or anyone else reading this suggest backing up my RAID O in the most efficient way – i.e. if I use a drobo via firewire 800 is there a way it can only copy over whats new or updated and not the entire contents of the RAID each night?
any suggestions on fastest / best ways to do backups of my RAID 0 internal would be awesome
cheers

November 3, 2010 at 5:53 am in reply to: HP Dreamcolor + hdlink 3d & Decklink extreme 3d = Cailbration?specifically is it the same as hdmi 1.4a or 1.3, how does it perform in comparison to the HDP2, what setting should I have when using with a Dreamcolor for grading and what exact display port size connection are we talking because it seems larger?

hello
I read your post a few days ago and was hoping get a thread going because I am about to build an almost identical home setup and want feedback and setting advice. The type of grading work you do is broadcast or film as well and any config advice you might have or where you built it out from (b&h??).
cheers

CG243 is what you use ok great i will compair on b&h.com to the Dreamcolor (they seem to be in the same price point). Might I ask exactly how do you connect from your macpro to keep 10 bit rec. 709 accuracy?

hello Hisayuki,
great post – just curious how exactly and what type of monitoring are you using going out of your macpro?
cheers

That’s what i figured but so do i have to check only certain render settings? I want to keep most things unchecked and speed up the offline process but want to still be able to do FULL renders without re-checking all of those settings…in the past when i have done this and hit option r i still see color bars notifying me that i need to still render something so I always end up having to check everything and then select all command R.
thoughts?
thank you

not sure we are understanding each other here…
This would be on a newer MacPro – all fast post-facility machines and I mean the settings tab at the top where it has Render and Render all where you can check different options – otherwise i know how to set my system preferences and such.
maybe my question makes no sense? sorry if that is the case.
