unfortunately, the 2 packages may indeed work great together, and they do, they still require their own individual solutions for this technique. I am not a C4d expert, but in any 3d package i have seen you (obviously) need to make sure each letter in 3d is its own individual 3d model first. Adjusting the anchor points for these objects will effect the path the objects take as they scale upward and into place.
In AE, there are animation presets for this along with your ability to do it by “hand” for a more unique look. (my choice)

thats a rotoscoping job. Than a colorization. Colorizing black and white footage can be done many ways, tri tone filter, hue saturation settings, colorama, duotone etc etc Also there are many third party filters.

i would not do a capture because keeping it sharp would be near impossible. Use the text on a path tool to type on the message you want at a much larger size. You can reveal your text letter by letter with that plug.

unless that sheet your filming is huge, you risk the patterning\grain of the sheet looking un naturally large when composited on such a huge field. Obviously the lighting is critical as well. I would do it all CG myself. But if you have the right gear and large enough sheet, proper angles etc you should be ok.

to me, they are using some sapphire plug ins. One of their Render\Texture plugs with a fast blur or gaussian blur to get the look at 11 seconds. The other effect is the old standard, 3d stroke by trapcode\Red Giant. Also looks like some particle illusion ‘circular confetti’ blasted out (all white) and falling in the footage. And either the sapphire glint, or starglow effect used on some of the footage….

3d stroke with some distortion / echo could do the line effect. A simple emitter from particl illlusion or particular can create the slight particle effect after the lines finish.

    my 2 cents

I would render out the clouds layer in a separate comp. Pull the color out of it, and use the levels
to crank up the contrast some. Use this layer as an obscuration layer using the alpha. Double up the greyscale layer on top of itself and use the layer mode ‘stencil alpha’ to create the alpha. OR just use the one layer and use its luminance.

twixtor pro is the best tool out there for dramatically slowing down or speeding up footage. If you can afford it, i find it an incredible tool….
