a few things come to mind. Plug in wise, Re Vision inc makes a plug called smooth kit that would help that a lot. BUT – this should not be happening in the first place. If its just stills, resize them in photoshop first, thats what I generally do if I am not scaling it up much. Your image, to me, looks like its set at half resolution for the WHOLE image. Check your comp and render settings. It just looks like
your set at half rez.You can email me a hi rez still and ill try it on my machine if it helps.

I agree with Barend. Over my 18 yrs or so, I have a pretty deep knowledge of what each plug in can do and how it can help me achieve a certain look. A LOT of plugs do not produce a look that matches the NAME of the plug itself, but can still be VERY useful. Personally I can visualize the tools and path pretty quickly, and usually a plan b and c as well. I have no clue why, but I seem to be able to manage the complex layering of multiple plugs in my head pretty efficiently. Im guessing its the non stop 18 yrs of work. That said, I am like everyone else, in that, experimenting and finding happy accidents are a part of our ‘growth’ as animators \ artists. Rarely, am I using a single plug for an effect. I also have a huge collection of effects footage at my ‘side’ ready to help aid in creating any given look, in most all cases combined with plugs as well.

I dont want to be responsible for ‘destroying’ your files. But im pretty sure those temp files are things ae
stores to aid in rendering speed and referencing \ saving info on comps pre comps etc. I think the equivalent to what you are doing is similar to a “purge all” selection within ae itself. That deletes all the “saved files” that help ae move snappier for you as you work, but can build up to sizes that bring your performance to a crawl…. Thats why there is the option to Purge all \ the cache. Im no engineer though, but I think your work is fine if you delete those files. Unless your project is massively complicated, simply make sure all the files in your bin exist in your projects folder.SuperNova

I believe Zaxwerks will allow you to do that, (invigerator) or Pro Modeler – not positive though….

theres a couple things I may do to achieve this. Shoot the tv with a black screen and all the reflections should show up as ‘clear’ as they are going to be. Then overlay that black screen in AE with the add or screen composite mode. You can use your levels adjustments to tweak the reflection. Personally, depending on exactly what you are doing, I like to do my own 3d reflections and use them as an overlay.
That may not work depending on what you are doing.good luck…

the ABC effects were achieved using real flow. The splash and water effects. (slight chance maya’s fluid dynamics were used) there are a series of complicated 2d formulas I would use to come close to that look, but nothings as good as real flow or a good fluid simulation.

I agree with robert, I cant see the jitter you see. Old school techniques,4 point tracking and some motion blur. No tutorial is going to do anything but explain the tool and its settings related to that one sample.
