Watch Burlesque, its full of that “David Hamilton” style.
When I do it, I dont blur the high highlights but more the mids.
But the secret is not the amount of blur, is the blend node to get the sharpness of the original back with adding the haziness.A slice of color…

Yeah, that would work..
Resolve does not care about your UI card that much.
But adding a nice 470/570 (the future, i know) into that external box would make it a CUDA power house.
And if you can cascade it with a little Raid, oh boy, oh boy 🙂A slice of color…

Which is my infamous “Version 0”
On a feature I always make one untouched version first and then start with a grading one.
That enables you to click back to one and click back to one with disabled nodes.
I know it might be too late now.A slice of color…

ahhhh….so everything is from one file I assume ?
that explains it..
Did you try and do a preconform that splits the one file into segments ?A slice of color…

This is actually how Resolve works.
Instead of bothering your clients with a million little things, it applies a fantastic overall grade
It could also be the case you are in track mode instead of clip mode.
Just guessing 😉A slice of color…

Well, Does it actually matter when Resolve treats values in floating point ?
I had bad experiences in Scratch when using the Alexa LUTs as an output or viewing or grading LUT.
When changing color, it looked like is was squeezed through the Lut and we had funny banding everywhere.
That also occurred with animated blends and color animations.
But when using the LUT first, the animations looked smooth.A slice of color…

You can alter the variables in there to accommodate for your naming topology.
If you can provide us the path and name, we might help with the variables.A slice of color…

You scanned media is probably logarithmic .
The waveform you are looking to is probably set to scale from 100 to 700 .
Resolve s scope is unscaled and video so your log material will looked washed out and it values are between 100 and 700.
Next step could be to load an input Log2Lin Lut and activate “show on scopes” and then I guess it will fill the scale and “look better”A slice of color…

Yes, a smaller onset version would be great.
And no, it should not be free, but compatible with the big one .
I would instantly get an Airbook for it tooA slice of color…
