OK, so I am trying to get my Resolve to work. but it isn´t going too well.

First, I tried to export a Premiere Project to Resolve with EDL, XML or whatever… nothing worked. Then I read about compability issues with Premiere rountrip, so I thought I would try to get Resolve running with a Final Cut roundtrip.

So I have made quite a few testprojects in Final Cut PRo now, trying if ÅÄÖ in the filenames would be the problem, and other stuff, but it just isn´t working at all for me.

When I export a XML from Final Cut, load it in the conform page I get the following message (after telling Resolve where the original file can be found):

    ——————————
    4 of 4 clip(s) have been found.
4 source clip(s) have been imported into the media pool.
Use XXX as the new session name.
The clip “XXX” can’t be linked to the media file “XXX” because the reels doesn’t match.
The clip “XXX” can’t be linked to the media file “XXX” because the reels doesn’t match.
The clip “XXX” can’t be linked to the media file “XXX” because the reels doesn’t match.
The clip “XXX” can’t be linked to the media file “XXX” because the reels doesn’t match.
    —————————–

The project contains one file, divided to four cuts/edits/clips. What am I doing wrong? I read all nice posts about how stable Resolve is… but I haven´t managed to get one single, short, testproject from neither Premiere nor Final Cut properly imported to Resolve. 🙁

What settings do you have in the Config page prior to importing media files and loading the EDL?

I´m not in front of my macs now (they are at the office), but the same resolution and framerate as the original files. Then there is a bunch of other settings too, I can check those tomorrow. Any specific setting you suspect to be incorrect?

It seems the the reel/tape numbers from the XML and the method you are using to extract them from the media don’t match.

Try switch off the reel number completely by switching off the “Assist using reel numbers from the:”

If you use the pattern, click on test to see if it actually works.
You can alter the variables in there to accommodate for your naming topology.
If you can provide us the path and name, we might help with the variables.
