  • Disabling RED Source Settings

    Hey Guys

I feel like someone hit me on the head cause I feel like I’ve done this but can’t remember how. Grading a feature shot on RED – supervised with client I’ll disable a grade which of course disables all nodes for the grade to show them the original shot but on a lot of these shots we’ve gone in and adjusted RED source settings on clip level to recover some highlights adjust iso etc. So when I disable the grade the adjusted RED source settings are still there which is fine sometimes but I also want to go back to the original as shot clip. Can’t seem to remember how to do this short of going back to source settings and go back to camera metadata.

Not a huge deal but been driving me crazy on a 2800 shot movie.

Also I’m on the big panel if anyone knows a key for disabling source settings.

    Thanks

    Robbie

No idea if there’s a button for this on the big panel, but my only thought would be to create an empty node grade that has RED settings set to default, and disable source protection in the gallery.

Which is my infamous “Version 0”
On a feature I always make one untouched version first and then start with a grading one.
That enables you to click back to one and click back to one with disabled nodes.
I know it might be too late now.

thanks guys – I’ve tried this method and it works. The issue I guess Is that I’ve just graded most of the film with out the blank node and at this point its a pain to go back. Next time!

Do versions store R3D decoding as well? I always thought it was just nodes.
