Try changing the audio codec for mp4 encoder.  </p>

That&#8217;s not what I am looking for.  You can now drag and drop video clips into the essential graphics panel and stack them along with text and shape layers. These layers are great way to be used as mask.  However, I cannot trim the start and end points of the clip. The only option I have is&hellip;</p>

My clients now use AI inhouse for all their small content needs like script, talking heads, removing unwanted stuff from photographs, generative images which they were earlier out sourcing to us.</p>

Dragging the clip to and existing track will cast the clip into the  existing track&#8217;s format.</p>
<p>However you can change the properties / format of the clip through interpret footage. You cannot change the format of an existing track in the&hellip;</p>

That is a very useful tip indeed. In fact I color the clips that require modification later. Markers are unreliable as they move away with ripple. <p>2. Dated video codecs</p>
<p>3. Mixed codecs</p>
<p>4. Uncleaned cache</p>

Dedicate a folder on an free SSD drive for all cache. Delete them frequently. It may take a while to rebuild the cache, but it is worth the wait.   Depending upon your CPU / GPU, use proxies and low res playback.</p>

But may work if you have the same audio in both the footage. Put both footage one above other on the timeline.  Scene detect and cut the shorter video. Then, do a sync video based on audio. The clips from the shorter video will align to the times of longer one. Now you may cut the longer video and remove the unwanted clips.  </p>

The remaining sequence often run empty. I often ask them to reuse layers. They also place very large png files scaled down to a tiny logo on the right top. While I have seen some performance degradation, is there a mechanism in Premiere or After Effects to ignore such&hellip;</p>

All these strategies sound relevant at different situations.  Charging is the easiest thing to do. However, as Mark said, you cannot penalize your client for simply being loyal and coming back to you, is an ethics eye opener.</p>

Sometimes they come back after years for just a format / codec change. So much so that I have 40TB of old data now. Often hard disks crash. So I have to either recover that data or make backups at a cost. </p>

Then there is no difference between adjustment layer and a pre-composed layer. I still did not understand the advantages of adj layer over precomposed layer, expect for not having to go else where to edit. Hence a field/ parameter to avoid the&hellip;</p>
