Hi, when importing stereo audio into premiere pro does anything need to be done to the audio or the tracks, I just received 2 Wav files back from an audio mixer, one left and one right, can these audio files just be dropped in on two separate tracks or do I need to pan the left audio all the way to the left and same with right, etc?

    Hey Ben,

You can either pan Left & Right.

Or, you can map out the channels (mono) in your preferences so you don’t have to do it for future clips in those tracks. Although, you’ll will want a stereo file to be in a separate Stereo track…

Dragging a clip to a outside the existing tracks will create a new track with the same specs as that of the clip. Dragging the clip to and existing track will cast the clip into the existing track’s format.

However you can change the properties / format of the clip through interpret footage. You cannot change the format of an existing track in the sequence.
