  • How to trim a video clip within essential graphics?

Its good to know that we can now import video clips inside of essential graphics. However I could not figure out how to trim the video clip inside the essential graphics panel to get the exact point in the footage. The only thing I could do is nest the essential graphics layer and then trim the nested clip. But that defies the whole idea of essential graphics. Any thoughts?

The process to trim a video clip from Essential Graphics should be very similiar to trimming a normal video clip.

Here is what I found: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/trimming-clips.html

And I also found this video too that teaches you the ins and outs of Essential Graphics.

Not sure if you are trying to trim a video clip outside a Sequence or inside it but try selecting the trim tool and then clip the parts of the clip that you want exactly to be cut off. Hope it helps, if there is something I am missing there, you can let me know!

No. What you mentioned is normal trimming in a sequence. That’s not what I am looking for. You can now drag and drop video clips into the essential graphics panel and stack them along with text and shape layers. These layers are great way to be used as mask. However, I cannot trim the start and end points of the clip. The only option I have is to trim the entire essential graphics layer. That cuts off the intro and outro of the EG layer
