Just a shot in the dark but maybe something is competing with AE. Since you said your comp is new maybe there are updates running in the background.

Just throwing this out there. Are you running any other programs while AE is open. I know I have trouble when I run Illustrator or anything really.
When anything is competing with AE, AE seems to get a lil buggy.

Call me crazy. The one time I had audio issues it was actually caused by a conflict between internet explorer 8 and avid.(Go Figure!) After I got rid of IE 8, Avid would start up. Now I know you are on a mac but possibly something is in conflict with Avid. Think of any updates you recently applied and delete them

Try maybe exporting the AE footage as a Video for windows (.avi)

1. Mark in and out points on the portion of the sequence you are working on.
2. Click on Sequence you are working on.
3. Go to File
4. Go to Export
5. Go to options
6. Click on drop down (export As) choose audio
7. Choose wave(if using adobe) or aiff
8. Enable use marks (if used)
9. Click Save
10. Make File name
11. Save to directory.Open in other editing system then import final piece back into avid as wav file.

Once you send to SoresonI believe the best way to do it is MPEG 1+2, DVD_Large, go into the settings and change audio from Elementary to Program so you don’t have seperate files. But if that doesn’t work just leave the audio on elementary.
