Wieger answered your question. To make anything look good in AE, it takes time and patience. Though I do recommend first looking through the Manual. But don’t get flustered “there is no such thing as a stupid question.”

With P2 after you have imported it. Select the clips you need, go back up to file, import P2, then click media. That might do it for you. If not I’m out of ideas.

January 22, 2010 at 2:28 pm in reply to: How to export a .flv file from Avid Media ComposerI have more luck with Adobe. Seems to be easier to customize, but I have never used Sorenson for Flash files.

January 20, 2010 at 8:33 pm in reply to: How to export a .flv file from Avid Media ComposerWell my Media composer came with a third party system called Soreson Squeeze. If you click on your sequence go to file then click send to; click encoding; if the option soreson squeeze appears click on that make your settings. Then export it out. Once inside soreson there should be an option to change to flash.

Is it possible your “snap to cut” feature is on?

I don’t know what you usually edit on but I feel your pain. I used everything under the sun before I used avid. It was a big learning curve for its style of editing but once you get used to things and the get the program the way you want, its not too bad. The best thing about Avid really, is its real time editing, after that its pretty terrible. Call me crazy for simple editing Sony Vegas is amazing.

Like I said sometimes it works. Just throwin ideas out there. Unfortunately there is really no easy way of importing VOB files, though, it is getting better with Adobe and Avid. I tried opening a VOB with premiere and I could get the video to work fine but the audio did not come in with it. After some research I found some third party programs and could covert the audio to come in but it was a pain to perform.

Sometimes changing the extension works. Try changing .vob to .mpg. It’d worth a shot.
