    yeah,

i tried the hair dynamics contrain way before, and double checked it the last 10 minutes, it is actually a good way.

the bad thing is that this one still ignores the the rotation of the end controllers. even if i replace the linear spline with a 2 point bezier with large tangents.

not 100% what i need, but a strong fallback!

    regards,
    Ronny!

increase mass of object or gravity of scene (edit –> project setting, modynamics tab)

    hope that helps.

depends on what the book has to perform for your case.

would you like to perform foldings? or is it just in one condition
    all the time?

the static one is easy to build, but foldings are i bit more advanced.

    okay 🙂

    1.
you can easily import quicktime as material, not sure is you can use image sequences (for me foto-jpg codec works nice for playback)

    2.
in the animation tab you can set the framerate and lenght to get perfect fitting.
    2a.
for the camera move, if its simple you can try to recreate the original move with keyframes. if not, matchmoving software like syntheyes, boujou, or pf track are able to perform that, but they are most time expensive and complicated.

    3.
for exporting use image sequences or quicktime , on window maybe avi make sense, but i am not experienced with avi.

    hope that helps.

usually i use illutrator 8 as file format.

try to disable the “close spline” checkbox in the spline parameters.

    hope that works..

March 10, 2011 at 3:44 pm in reply to: C4D to AE camera motion blur problem

the only thing i can say is that the MB switch in AE only puts
MB on real 3d movment in the AE space, to get MB in rendered clips
you should think about a plugin like “real smart blur” where you have a lot opportunities to bring it in in post. or try the “force motion blur”
    filter.

maybe i am wrong but the MB switch in not what u need if you have clips.

IF you are working in 3d space try changing the shutter settings in the advanced tab in the comp settings.

    thats all i could say..

thanks for your file, seems that pretty much people using r12 here, i am on 11.5 🙁 (there should be a way export to older versions !?)

the thing with the scaling is just occuring when i import charakter
into a scene where it needs to be scaled to fit in the scene. thats nothing i can abandon, i cant scale the scene to fit to the rig. but i just relized that problem after building that complex rig. noooooo!

    🙂

    thanks,
    Ronny!

pretty much what i was lookin for!!

thanks you for wasting your time for me. 🙂

in the end i made an animation at the same time you post this file. so i uploaded it. i would love to see a way to get it done with this contrain tag, because i will use it often i think. so here is the animation, maybe anybody has done it before this way.

    ring issue

but this time i stick to your file!

    thanks,
    Ronny!

    it says unknown file format,
    working on 11.5 here..

and about the understanding, without seeing the file, its like you disribed it, but having a look into your testfile would be superb.

in the end every ring stands for one axis, and all together are able to perform a full rotation in any direction. and i could animate it ring by ring, but i thought it would be timesaving having just one controller.

and also seeing how the tag is handling the rotation and getting a nice
    animation asthetic maybe. 🙂

    thanks,
    Ronny!
