Does positioning the titles at an even integer apply in this case?
It solves a lot of problem when using the built-in Boris titler…Ron

I collapse them all down to one layer, so that I can then use the wand to select/deselect the areas I want to matte out.
Like I said, this is just the way I learned years ago and I doubt it’s the most efficient! I don’t use type from PS a lot, and when I do it’s usually large, so selecting is easy. But I just know there must be another way..

Ask yourself what is someone who apparently deals in guitars, doing with a
D5 deck? Hmmmm?I think there is some sort of way to insure your purchase or pay via escrow.
I if you decide to take the plunge…make sure there is water in the pool.Ron

Hi –
But if I use DV, don’t I end up with a frame size of 720 x 480, which would change graphic positions if I up-rex to 720 x 486?

I like Transmit as well. Simple and elegant. Decent support, though I’ve rarely had a problem. It’s from panic.com.
If you’re not used to using FTP, just be aware of the differences betwen uploading binary (graphics) vs ASCII (text) files. For the most part, you can leave Fetch (as I recall) and Transmit on “automatic” and they’ll choose the mode based on the file extension of the file your sending.
Oh, and if you like using Dashboard Widgets, there is one for Transmit…

It’s very possible that I’m going something wrong 🙂
These are 640×480 files of programs that run 10-12 minutes.
I swear I’ve tried every variation on VBR, CBR, fps, etc…and
they still end up looking blocking and nasty. While final size
(in megs) is always an issue, I’d love to hear anyone’s advice
on what might be the “best” settings. I don’t care if it takes
all night to encode!
ThanksRon

Hi –
Someone suggested to me awhile back here on the Cow that I export an AVI of my timeline to a FW drive, then move it to a PC and use the Windows WMV encoder to make my WMV from. Sounded like a reasonable solution, as the WMVs I get out of F4M are not great.
However, I could never get this to work. All the AVIs through errors of one sort or another, though it could easily been something specific to my setup. It may be worth a try for you.

Thanks for the great reply. I checked out the options and ended up
using AE, only because it’s sitting right here next to me!I’m honestly not sure what the point of the built-in stablize effect
is…other than to annoy people 🙂Ron
