Same issue. I checked to make sure the problem wasn’t coming from “Other Bins,” but it’s not.

FIXED! The db files in the SupportingFiles folder were the culprits. Trashed and rebuilt and I’m back in bidness

That’s the way it works. Try sizing them and positioning them to your liking, then go to Windows > Workspaces and “save current.” This allows different users to have different workspaces. Once you’ve set up all your workspaces they way you like them, I’d suggest mapping each to a function key so you can quickly toggle between them.

    Hope this helps.

Not exactly sure what you mean by “so many layers?” Do you mean actual tracks of footage or graphics, or do you mean the “layers” of nested effects? Do you know about “stepping in” and “stepping out” of those effects with the up/down arrow?

If it’s a nested effect, are you on the correct track? When you get to the track with the Paint effect, did you actually “activate” the paint effect by selecting the vignette you made?

  • Speaking of which, why does this limitation on nested AS plugins still exist? I can only assume it is some limitation deep in the code, but surely someone could have found a way around this in the what, last 10 years?

    Sheesh!

    Green – Green.

But the difference between the two graphics is the issue – not the overall playback quality, right?

    Richard –

I created it originally @ 220 and it just doesn’t look as crisp
as the AE sequence which includes the exact same text. I am
doing this all online using Avid 6.0.

Is there a preferred image format in the Title Tool? Mine is set to
    create a PICT by default…

    Thanks.

Sounds like you may have tried this, and it’s unlikely that a PNG would ever be saved as CMYK, but every now and then I get dinged by that issue…

    Dave –

One weird little tool I discovered for making very small, but very good QTs came with Call Recorder for Skype, made by these people… It’s a little suite of drag and drop encoders…

If you’ll all PC, this won’t help, but it’s a great little app. I also usually make Animation QT’s, then drop them on this and watch as it spits out a much smaller (bit-wise) QT with very good quality. I also have good luck using MPEG Streamclip.
