Am I missing something or is there really no overcranking?

I’ve seen that happen when you have previously deleted a track. It sometimes puts the new one where the deleted one used to be, but yes, you can easily reorder them as the previous poster noted..

    Shane –

Thanks. That’s what I thought. So basically this means that you can’t pick and choose stuff off the card. It’s all or nothing at all. Your analogy of a master tape (or OCN) is a good one.

I am running that version. As I said, I was able to do this two week ago, using the same footage settings and the same version of AE.

I’m going to jump in here with a quick query.

Just did a shoot with EX3. I simply dragged and dropped the full BPAV file structure from
the cards over to a HD. I gave each card its own name (Card 1,2….)
So the structure is now HD > Card 1 > BPAV (all files included)

I checked each one using the XDCAM Browser utility and everything looked fine.

I am sending this all off to a Producer/Editor in anther city and (based on a raft of XDCAM postings) I
just want to feel comfy that I’m not missing something here….and that they’ll be able to use the
    media.

    Thanks.

    Thanks guys.

This morning, with a clearer head, I discovered that if I stepped into the
titles and put the Animatte efx on the fill layers, I could get the desired
result. Funny how things sometimes seem simpler after a good nights
    sleep!

    Michael –

I’m on a corporate network, so no OS updates get made to this system
    unless I know about it.

I’ll take a look at the Task Manager. Maybe something is running in the BG…

Only Avid seems to be pokey. I’m actually due for an update to v4.0, so I probably won’t do a reinstall in the meantime.

    Many thanks!

    Jon –

Well, yes. I work in an environment in which Corporate handles all IT tasks,
including overseeing upgrades to our Avids. We just added a new RAID, but
the Avid version was not changed. However, it is possible that other stuff
“under the hood” was changed without me knowing it. I’ll see if maybe
something was done to change XP or perhaps Window Media was updated in
    some way…

    Micheal –

Got it working. Trashed ALL the db files in all the MXF folders and we’re back in business.

And yes, I meant to say that we were using the Media Tool to show the masterclips. We do this all the time…

    Thanks for the response.

    Dave –

I will push on! And yea, I will probably sweeten the final production in some sound app. Right now it’s just annoying because I’m dashing off revisions to The Client, and I didn’t want them to hear this stuff and get all weird about it….

    Thanks.
