    Ive decided to not deal with final cut x so much so im learning avid,the only question i have now is how do i keep my menus or tabs attached together in avid mc6(fo some reason when i open avid every window is floating) for example the timeline,the composer etc are not attached to each other HELP!! Please!

    That’s the way it works. Try sizing them and positioning them to your liking, then go to Windows > Workspaces and “save current.” This allows different users to have different workspaces. Once you’ve set up all your workspaces they way you like them, I’d suggest mapping each to a function key so you can quickly toggle between them.

    Avid did add tabs in Version 6 (i think it was 6.0)

    Just open two bins…click and drag the name area of one of the bins, and drop it next to the name area on another bin. Do this as much as you like. Set up multiple bins each with multiple tabs.
