This is an 8 bit uncompressed NTSC project. When I bring in Motion projects (whether they are animated or not) the text looks like crap (jagged edges, crawling on the animated ones). Some setting I’m missing?

normally this is an issue of viewing the text on your cinema display. Have you taken a look at them on an external NTSC monitor?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I’m viewing a fully rendered timeline on a Panasonic BT-LH2600W via Kona component output. The fonts aren’t thin and wimpy either–we’re talking Arial Black here.

Does positioning the titles at an even integer apply in this case?
It solves a lot of problem when using the built-in Boris titler…

[overeasy] “Does positioning the titles at an even integer apply in this case?

That’s not only true of the Boris Titles, but with the positioning of ANY kind of video or graphics.

What are your Motion project settings? Do they match FCP sequence?

I do not know if this applies to Motion but FCP does not interpret the Alpha channel right. Perhaps you have to switch it to Strait instead of Black or the other way around.

I just double checked the render settings. It is fully rendered.
