why is this deck so cheap???

its a d5 hd machine. why is this so cheap? is it cuz the machine is old? are d5 machines not that reliable? has d5 been dropped by pana?
i would think that d5 would be a good way to master all those HDV/HDCAM/DVCPROHD projects all us FCP guys have, no?
I cant help but notice that with only hours to go in the auction there are no bidders

Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see any mention of hours on the heads, loading, ect. Could be a deal, or a pile of repairs.

This is awfully cheap for a D5. In LA D5 is the de-facto mastering standard for HD commercials. Must have crusty peanut butter in the tape path….

Ask yourself what is someone who apparently deals in guitars, doing with a
D5 deck? Hmmmm?I think there is some sort of way to insure your purchase or pay via escrow.
I if you decide to take the plunge…make sure there is water in the pool.Ron

Oh good. I thought for a minute there that d5 had died, like m2 or something, and no one told me! 🙂
there is also a newer d5 for sale thats not as cheap, but still cheaper than a 1200 and a lot cheaper than a new d5:
