Play around with the video effect called bad tv, it looks like he’s done that at the end of a clip and then just jumped straight to the next clip without the efect.

It shouldn’t be too hard to recreate

If you have one partitioned drive you will have all sorts of problems with playback and rendering. Your scratch disk needs to be on a seperate drive from your boot drive.

Your boot drive should only have your project files on it, as these are tiny file size and only contain basic info, your media files, especially with HD will be massive and Final Cut needs to have those stored on a seperate drive.

Get an external or better still install another 1TB internal drive in your pro.

November 20, 2009 at 1:13 pm in reply to: need to get rid of black from logo, please help

It is a PSD file, and there’s only one layer and it says there’s no background, in photoshop it looks like black letters on no background, but in final cut it gets turned to white letters on a black background.

    What’s up?

    Hi Rafael,

thanks for your answer, but I’m still a novice, could you be more specific please.

Do you mean go into QT conversion and choose quicktime movie, HD720p?

Sorry I haven’t used many of these conversions yet.

    Thanks

  • I did sort this problem out George, but it was quite a while ago and I can’t remember exactly how.

What I would say is check all the settings on the FS and check the manual for the settings your camera should be on.

On the FS make sure the E symbol is on before you start recording, press the tape button if it isn’t. Make sure in record mode it is set to normal in HDD mode make sure you’re set to dvcpro/dv Rec and that tapeless is selected in the functions.

Also I know it sounds silly but if everything seems right check your connection between the FS and camera and the firewire going into the fs, unfortunately these connections are sub-standard and though the box itself is great the connections let it down.

I’m investing in some L shaped jacks, I’ve been told those are so much better.

    Good luck.
