I have built an edit with four tracks of video and six of audio.

I have a main interview and I’ve used video cutaways from an mp4, everything has been going fine, I finished the edit compressed it and sent to the client.

There was a change to be made, so I opened up the project, tried to edit in a cutaway from my mp4 and it won’t edit in and I get an insuficient content message.

I can’t understand why it won’t let me edit in from a video that I’ve done before, my deadline is looming and I need to finish this today, please help.

There can be a number of reasons for this. A screen shot might help together with a description of exactly how you’re executing the edit and what type of edit it is.

    All the best,

The piece of the mp4 that you want to use is not long enough to fill the space marked in the timeline. Mark in and out on the timeline. What is the duration shown for the marked piece? Is your source clip that long or longer?

Try this. Clear the OUT point on the timeline. Will the clip edit in now? If so, you’ll see that it does not cover the entire space previously marked by IN and OUT.

Ah that was it, the entire timeline was marked so that was my problem.

Take a step back, phew! thanks guys
