After much hair pulling and hand wringing, I’ve discovered that my DVD drive is corrupted, thus I can’t deliver DVD rushes to my client.

So I want to do the next best thing and give him files he can watch on his PC.

Therefore I need the best possible QT conversion for this, I’ve been using H.264s for the web recently and I’m tempted to use this as I know he’ll be able to view it on his PC, but I’d like to find a better one if possible as he won’t be that appreciative of the quality drop.

The rushes were shot in 720p HD and are 2 hours long.

As ever your help and comments are greatly appreciated.

    Hi Rob,
    Set the Key Frames “Automatic”.
The data rate for p720 with good quality, I start to try from 12 Mbps up.

    Hi Rafael,

thanks for your answer, but I’m still a novice, could you be more specific please.

Do you mean go into QT conversion and choose quicktime movie, HD720p?

Sorry I haven’t used many of these conversions yet.

    Thanks

Thanks Steve, is that an alternative to compressor/QT conversion?
