John: Magic Bullet! Perfect. I use it frequently to liven up the sky,etc on events but it just went past me to use it for this. I really should have thought of this but I guess working 10 hours a day on editing and watching over and over our programs things just get muddled.
Grazie: What you did looks good but does not work with what I’m doing. It’s a 4 camera shoot and features the background as much as it does me so I don’t want to pull attention from the background or change the state of it to look different from the other cameras.

Here’s a still from the footage I was wanting to make a bit lighter.
Grazie, when I talked to you earlier, that trick with the bump map helped. I don’t move around much so I just wanted to lighten the area around the area where I stand.
I can also use “fill light” to help but that doesn’t localize it as I wanted.

Are you sure that your video track is not muted?
It’s the icon on the left with the circle with the line through it.

Be sure your preview window is set to “preview (auto)” and not something higher like “good (half).

Thanks very much for those links. I’ve had RX for a long time and have been in the dark somewhat. These will help.

I would love to see someone do a demonstration on the fine points of how to use iZotope Spectral Repair. Is there such a tutorial out there?

  • NewBlue V6 has a plugin called “Picture Grid” that works pretty good.
I know it’s hard to get those black lines equal. I’ve sometimes made a transparent PNG file with lines on it and inserted it above my tracks to create the black marks. That way positioning the events isn’t quite so difficult because they can go behind the PNG file.

I think you might want “corner pinning” in Boris.
Here’s the tutorial John did for it.
