I bought a new computer quad core with 12 gigs of ram as well so I could preview the M2ts files and had the exact same problem. Tried everything and finally returned the computer and they discovered one of my sticks of RAM was bad. Worked basically for everything else but chocked when I rendered. Not saying this is your problem but it’s a possibility.

I’ve discovered that when I have certain plug-ins (Mercalli)applied to clips in 32 bit Vegas, my computer blue screens after loading that project in 64 bit. Wish the plug-in companies would update.

Also the nice thing about the save as (with media) is that it takes all the sources like music and clips, etc. and puts them all into one directory instead of having them dispersed all over your hard drive.
It does not however take the head and tail off of M2t clips even though even if you’ve checked that option box. So if you use 20 seconds from a 20 minute clip, it save the entire 20 minute clip.

  • My vote is for the green. Green best describes the land and grass. Blue on the other hand denotes water.

Thanks very much for the explanation. Wish I could help answer as many questions as I ask. Thanks everyone. This is a great service.

A while back I asked if I might need a faster video card. The answer was no and that Vegas uses only the CPU to preview video. So I’m confused as to this discussion of a fast video card now.

  • I’m not sure this will help but I have had the same problem many times. I now have a faster computer and don’t have the issues but you might try to have no other programs running when you render.
Also check to see if your memory settings are high enough. I have mine set for 500 and that works for me.
I’m not the expert other users are but I hope that might help.

That’s so true. I find sometimes Mercalli does a wonderful job and other times I use it and wonder if it’s working at all even with very similar clips.

I’m a huge Sony fan and have everything Sony for my productions but I found it did basically nothing to the clip I tried. I also have a friend that downloaded the 64 bit version and it didn’t even show up in Vegas 64 bit but did show up in 32 bit.
I’ve been using Mercalli and find that although there are too many setting for my liking, it works quite well.

I did look it up on the Vegas help and did see that but it didn’t seem to work. Well, stupidity again as I was hitting Ctrl-alt-D.
    Thanks for straightening me out.

As an aside, probably the most used hot-key I use if for auto-ripple.
I have made my caps lock key right above my shift key on the left side of my keyboard for that purpose instead of having to do a ctrl-L which is awkward since I’m right handed.
