When I have an audio envelope on my timeline, often I want to just duck just one clip at the clip level without using the audio envelope but the two lines may be directly if front of each other so I have to lower the timeline envelope in order to get to the one on my clip. Is there a way to bring one forward or with a hotkey so I can adjust my clip audio level without messing with the longer audio envelope?

Make a new audio track and drag the audio of the single clip you want to adjust to this new track.
That way, the volume envelope won’t be in the way.

Great tip. Thanks very much. That small problem has interfered my workflow for years.
