Why don’t you try Vimeo. You can take your piece and embed a link on your site and people will never know it’s coming from Vimeo. Here’s what I’ve done as an example and the quality is really nice. You can upload in HD as well. You can also resize your video to whatever you wish as Vimeo gives a choice when copying the embed code.

I am using two tracks with Mt2s files and one with M2t.

Here’s the scenario. I shoot the program and my first step is to cut apart all the sections I don’t want. I leave them all in place however with no ripple. When I get done with this then I take the clips and ripple them together one by one starting at the end of the program and working to the beginning. So none of the clips have been altered any differently than the others. BUT when I begin to ripple them this unsync happens to about 10% of the clips.
It’s strange.

I bought a small sony camera and it came with a program called PMB. I don’t use it much but I can scrub through video and it will capture a frame for me that is FABULOUS. No comparison to what I can capture with Vegas even making the image full screen and using Best.

Thinking about this further, if you can shoot the speedometer with a steady fixed camera then you can use your velocity feature to make the dial go up, down, slow or fast. That would be the easiest solution.

Here’s an idea that could work.
Build yourself a dial instead of the arrow, something that looks like the speedometer needle.

I’m 98% certain that the coloring was done in post. There’s a great plug-in called Magic Bullet Looks that can do a great job with things like this.

Good question and I’d like to know but I guess if I were stuck doing something like this I’d do a transition on the box instead of the type. For instance put a quick “flash” transition on the box between text changes instead of the text itself.

Glad you mentioned the Template: Apple iPod 640×480 for rendering video for the web. I’ve experimented with them ALL and that is the only one which seems to be satisfactory resulting in nice web video.

I was always concerned with the large files but after shooting for so long one finally gets over it and begins to accept it. A one terabyte external HD is the answer. Back it up and forget it. If it’s something I want to keep, I back it up to two HD’s.

You will loose all those separate folders when doing a save as. It puts everything into the one directory you do the save as. Not such a bad thing though.

Sony says it can’t cut the head and tail of the mt2 files because of the nature of the file. However you can highlight a clip and do a render as and save just that portion of a clip as a new file. So I’m not sure why Sony can’t do that as well with some sort of feature in Vegas.

Glad I read this post. My series for PBS has to be 26:40 for each episode and when building the project I’m always scrolling to the end to check to see at what point my time ending is. The LOCK feature (which I never used before) will let me lock my last credit clip right at 26:40 and I can build to there without it moving.
