You might try searching the archives to see if your question has ever come up before, there’s a wealth of information contained there.
The M100 installer does install the customized version of Comet CG called CG Studio for use with that version of Media 100 (which was licensed for use prior to Boris Graffiti being the CG), however QuickTime 5 broke CG Studio:

https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_post.cgi?forumid=4&postid=77188&archive=TIt looks like the McRoberts site is long gone, but you can still get to it via the Wayback Machine:

M100 needs clean, stable sync to lock onto in order to digitize. Try running the signal from the U-Matic through a TBC first to clean it up, then into M100.

[Bobby Mosaedi] “hey is this only for os 9?”
Yes, the 720 enabler is only necessary (and only works) for/in M100 in OS 9. And you need a Vincent 601 board.
[Bobby Mosaedi] “do i need to boot the machine in os 9 and then flash/install the update and then boot back into 10 to use in version 8?”
No. Did you did read the kb article you cited? The functionality of the 720 enabler was built into the v 8.x software for OS X. The Analog 601 option will only appear in the hw prefs if you have a Vincent 601 board installed. Ergo, I’m guessing you have a Vincent TM board and not a Vincent 601, as Floh also implied.
If I recall correctly, the about box in M100 lists what type of board you have, along with its serial. Or maybe its the diags. A P6000 lists as P6000. Vincent 601 = Vincent 601. Vincent TM = Just plain ol’ “Vincent.”

[Todd Spence] “I’m anxious to know if the graphics (since they were turned off) will come through. Doubt it. I’m thinking I’ll have to create a new program, import the rendered media files where the graphics (in the Graphics track) were, then “Print to EDL”. Do you agree?
Since you disabled the track, they won’t be exported, but what you’re getting with an EDL will just be placeholder clips anyway – none of the title/graphic information itself will be transferred with the EDL (just an in point and an out point for an empty title clip) so it’s probably just as easy to make a note of the times and placement of the titles, then recreate them in FCP (unless there are a ton of them in something like an hour long show.) Your other option would be to update to 6.0.3, but I think that will necessitate updating your OS – check the Compatible Peripherals Guide on M100’s site for the specifics.
I think putting imported rendered media files back in the G track will land you right back where you started (due to the bug) but you could try it.
P.S. Funny how one little thing that is a HUGE problem for me, can be solved with a little friendly insight from another user. I’m new to the “user group” chat/reflect/resolve/repair concept, but it sure seems to be paying off.”It’s karma – if you put good things out into the universe, then good things will come back to you. At least, I like to think that’s how it all works… =)

Try turning the graphics track off, then print to EDL. If memory serves, I think this was a bug that was fixed in 6.0.3.

November 10, 2005 at 7:28 pm in reply to: quick fix for stolen/now broken media 100 set up????!!!!Bummer about the movers. Did they also steal your caps lock key? 😉
You can purchase a used Vincent 601 or P6000 and it should work okay in a G4, but the Vincent TM cards will not. See the CPG for specifics and more info:
https://support.media100.com/CPGs/default.aspxIf you do buy a used card, you also need to make sure you get the system key (encryption code) for that card for the appropriate level and version of Media 100 software you want to run (i.e. V 8.x) – the system key is tied to the serial number of a particular board, so you can’t just use your old system key from your old board with a new one.
