A checkerboard pattern does sound like a codec/hardware problem as Floh indicated.

Is your slot config per the recommendations in the CPG?

Do you have any other third-party PCI cards in the system? If so, try pulling them.

If you have access to more than one Finish system, try swapping the boards between them and see if the problem follows the board.

You could also try looping the diags to build up stress/heat and see if it might fail then.

Obviously, things vary from market to market. You might want to click on the “Search Posts” link directly to the left of this forum and try searching its archive on keywords like “rate”, “invoice”, “contract”, “project” etc. Lots of good info there.

Hi Tracy,

Try running the hardware test to verify that your boards are okay.

By “doing effects”, I presume you mean transitions? If so, check that your system is configured per the CPG:

and make sure that you don’t have any media residing on the C: drive (i.e., check the media destinations for your project and look on the C: drive for a project media folder)
