I’m capturing directly from the HVX on P2 via fw400

My output is typically internet, no fancy tricks or effects other than some chroma stuff. Is 30pN suitable for that? The transfer workflow is straight forward so I would much prefer to shoot in 30pN if there are no unforseen challenges. BTW, I’m new to DVCPro, I’ve been shooting HDV until recently at 60i and 30p. On the basic look I’m getting from the HVX, I’m really happy I made the switch but I didnt foresee some of these technical challenges.

thank you, then if you dont mind indulging me, what purpose does 30p serve? In what workflow is that format useful?

Thanks, before I do the reset thing, I thought I would run this past you. Last night I was fiddling and while the tape was running, I pressed “Capture Now” and it worked! I captured the whole tape without a hitch. I cant imagine this is how its supposed to work? If I wanted to create in and out points, logically it seems to me, that wouldn’t work but maybe this is how its supposed to be???

Thanks Bruce, I have tried that without success unfortunately. But what do you make of this… last night I was fiddling and while the tape was running, I pressed “Capture Now” and it worked! I captured the whole tape without a hitch. Is this how you capture? It sounds pretty crazy and if I wanted to create in and out points that process wouldnt work, but maybe this is how its supposed to be???
