Kim, have a check of your Audio Project settings. We often find on NewsCutter XP that the project sample rate changes after an audio file is imported at the wrong sample rate. It should of course be 48KHz.

The is an option on the ‘Audio’ tab of ‘Import Settings’ called ‘Convert Source Sample rate to project sample rate on import’.

  • Automatic Duck will allow you to do what you want but it’s not cheap.

    Pro Import PPro

I’m afraid DV (and DVCAM) is a professional format. It’s used extensively now for News/Features and documentaries in the UK and many other countries around the world. The format is fully supported in both professional and broadcast grade cameras.

I’m sure we would all like to use D1 but it’s no longer cost effective on the budget programmes are made on these days.

  • I’d agree with that view. We’ve got dual Xeons in use in our Adrenaline suites but the only real difference compared to a single Xeon (used in our NewsCutter XPs) or P4 is the ability to play back more video tracks in realtime simultaneously. Sure, renders are a little quicker but unless you can justify the cost…

Ditto Apple 23″ display. However, they all appear to be leaving Apple with an incorrect colour balance – they’re pink. You’ll need to calibrate your monitor if you want to do any kind of accurate colour correction.

That’s good news it cracked the problem Chad. I guess the internal cooling wasn’t designed for the processor to work as hard as rendering pushes it.

That’s possible Jeremy. I was also using a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card when I had the louds ‘pops’ Since disabling the Matrox card the problem went away but it was linked through the Sound Blaster card.

Got the latest drivers installed? Is there a firewire port on your sound card? Could you try a different port?

Just a thought, the folder isn’t set as read only is it?

Did you change the default install directory when you first installed the full app?
