DV25 4:1:1 is the DV standard for the NTSC version of DV and not a limtation of Avid. For PAL countries it is 4:2:0.
There is no degradation.

I think it’s a ‘feature’. I don’t remember this happening in Encore 1. Either way it is an unwanted feature for sure.

I’ve found the same problem. Slowing down a horizontal pan becomes unusable. It doesn’t appear to be interpolating between fields or frames. It was fine in V1.0

I’ve had the same issue and ditching my Matrox RTX100 card cured it for me. Never looked back since. Slightly sorry to see the card go but it was the most unreliable piece of kit I’ve used in over 25-years. Would not capture for more than 20 seconds, created the effects you have witnessed and repeatedly locked-up.

Unfortunately Encore treats a blank space as ‘nothing’ and although it plays fine – mostly – within Encore, any black that is needed needs to be added. Seems pretty dumb when it isn’t a requirement of Prem Pro and many, many other editing apps.

Lacking feature already requested Steve. I discovered the problem after giving up on a repeatedly locking up Matrox RTX.100 card. What I found was the default setup for the driver that renders upper-field first regardless of TV format. When I later tried to edit previously captured clips, I noticed the fields were reversed – all 64 clips worth! Needless to say that took a long time to resolve!

It will arrive in the UK on May 23rd. Not sure about the US though.
