    Hi Folks,

I am trying to trouble shoot an issue with Encore and think I have tracked it to my burner. Is anyone using a Sony DRU-540a burner successfully? I keep getting lockups at different spots in the burn process but it only seams to happen on the machine with that burner in it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

hey I am using the DRU 710a and I am thinking the problem might be the software that came with your drive..Encore is flicky with using other software installed on the same machine as it (nero). Remove any burning software other than encore and it *should* clear your problem. Let me know if that works.

    Hey Bryan,

Thanks for the thought but I have already run down that path. I unintalled Nero as well as disabling services that Adobe suggests and I still get the same outcome. Sometimes it burns okay but more often then not it crashes at the 7.5meg spot. Other times it burns through the data write and then hangs when writing the lead out. For now the saving grace has been taking the project files to my laptop and burning on the Pioneer DVD burner on it.

I am really at my wits end as I need to have dependable burning as many of my clients work down to the last minute. I think I may just pick up a Pioneer for the desktop as well and hope that solves the issue, it’s rather frustrating.

    Thanks again!

    Michael,

Have you disabled realtime file checking on your antivirus software?

No I have not, but I will.

    Thanks for the idea,
