I just have an index page now with an under construction sign. I am slowly building a site but i cant make up my mind on what i want… and I am kinda lazy. http://www.randyarchy.com I do tend to change the index page often though…
I was also thinking you could get a good explosion with Cloth and an explosion Fx I remember seeing it in an older 3dattack magazine.

I dont think you can get just a multi pass option you need to render it all. Best to remove all your lights and textures to speed things up for your AO pass.

That dynamic is a tough one to get. The absolute best solution is to use a plug in all Silver Bullit by Remotion on pre shattered object. But for If you want to get close to it with just cinema 4d I would go for Pfrag thinking particles.
Here is a good tutorial that will get you to where you could smash stuff.

On simple splines I have used regular deformers like bend and taper and manually placed them along the spline then animated with align to spline. It worked but is a little boring to do. might not be worth the effort if you have an elaborate spline.

In addition to Adams answer you may want to change the extruder caps from Ngons to grid to get better placement of hair.

This is what i got. https://www.randyarchy.com/rounded.jpg not nearly as rounded as brians but the edges are not sharp. This one was a cube that i welded the points on with two inner extrudes.

Start with a plane an extrude up and weld the points at the top. Then you can drop it under a hypernurbs. Then adjust it with weighting and inner extrudes.

Inside cinema: Duplicate the object you need to fade out and animate the transparency in the material. The original that is still in the boole turn off visibility in render.

Faster more controlled way is to render the object and the boole version seperate then layer them…and fade one out in post.

Xpresso has a couple ways to do this. I dont have time to post any files but if you drag the light with the effects into the xpresso editor you can set the FX glow brightness to something like the camera a better way is using FX fade to approaching object but that involves a little more effort.
