  • Make object Bend/Move along Spline without Mograph

I need to make a shape move along a spline but bend the way the spline does which will be animated. I saw the blog about a similar thing and Mograph was recommended, but i don’t have the Mograph plugin. Can i still do this using the basic C4D package without all the plugins?

Any suggestions are very welcome. Thanks.

It depends on the shape you need to bend. If it’s something you can build with loft NURBS then you could animate the loft splines along the spline with variable offset (at least in theory). Otherwise … not so much. There are plugins that can do this which are less expensive than MoGraphcan if you need to go that way.

On simple splines I have used regular deformers like bend and taper and manually placed them along the spline then animated with align to spline. It worked but is a little boring to do. might not be worth the effort if you have an elaborate spline.
