Is a clip that is already in the time-line?
Do the viewer window have audio tabs (Ch1, Ch2 or Chi&2)?

If you are working with HDCAM, you shouldn’t have problem to expend a couple of grands on this:

Film cameras makes real 24fps.
Video cameras make 23,98 fps which is normally called p24.
24 fps is not a standard in video and so, DVDs are 23,98 (or 29,97).
You must make your AE credits at 23,98fps.

MP4 containing H264 is the best option.
The MP4 container is the more universal (no need QT) and the H264 ensure the quality.Try this with QT:
– Export MP4
– Video Format: H264
– In “Video Options”, check “Multipass”.
– ALWAYS set Key Frames AUTO.
Size and data rate as needed, and fps’s os the source.If you have problems with the streaming, you should ask at our “Compression Techniques Forum”.

My experience with WD have been disastrous.
4 drives bought and 4 drives died after very short use of them even haven’t been used for editing.

No edit-ready with H264.Not supported by FC.
That beside the picture degradation. Yo need high data rate to make a decnt Intraframe clip.
There is no way you can upload something small, ready to edit and with quality.
You have to decide your priority

The audio data size might be bigger than the picture data.

You will also need to crop the picture.
Whatever the footage aspect ratio is (4×3 or 16×9) the image will be distorted if you just scale it to 700×484 without cropping.

Wrong advice.
MP4 and H264 are not supported by FC.

IMO, the best, and faster, option is to upload the DVD and convert it in the other size to whatever decent codec.

As Michael said on your previous post, FC can not manage GIFs. The fact that QT or FC can open some unsupported formats doesn’t means that FC can edit them.
As Michael suggested, open the GIF with QT or MPGStreamclip and export it on a codec supported by Fc.
