Final Cut pro 7 handbrake converstion
Hello,
I am using Final cut pro 7 and I shot some videos with a cannon handheld camera and it puts the videos out as mts.
I have tried converting them to mp4 with handbrake and two of the files converted just fine and final cut accepts them just fine. But the rest of my videos with convert to mp4 but final cut will not recognize them.
Does anyone know any other free mts converter for mac like handbrake or maybe a better way to get them into final cut pro 7?

You should convert your footage to apple Prores in order to use it without problems in Final Cut.

Log and Transfer is what you need…watch that tutorial!
And if that doesn’t work…clipwrap2 from divergentmedia.com is the way to go.

Are all of your mp4 files with the same codec settings?

You can try to convert your canon mts files to a QuickTime ie .mov format, which developed by Apple, while Final Cut Pro 7 is also designed from Apple Inc.
P.S, you may also take a try with re-encode your unreadable mp4 files with h.264 codec to check if works in your FCP 7.

H.264 will cause trouble with FC7. Your safe beat is to convert everything to Prores.

Wrong advice.
MP4 and H264 are not supported by FC.
