Shane is right. When you export with Compressor you can touch the gamma in the built-in gamma filter of Compressor. You got a very good preview to see the filter effect.

I would rather reinstall FC and up-date the ProApp Support etc. Don’t forget reppair permissions after any intallation.

Thanks for the information Rennie. You are really up-dated.
I came to live to Asia few years ago and I found the VCDs for the first time. And as you say Apple never helped with that. I had to use a bunch of funny frewaare that some times worked (MJPGTools, MissingMPGTools, ffmgx..).
At the momment they are still in use mostly for the Karaoke, but people start to buy DVD players.

I think that MPG1 standard admits only one size: 320×240 and a bit-rate. But I think with ff-mpgx you can change the setups as you need it.

You can never have the same TC in an NTSC and a PAL. They got two different time-base.

About Hardware, just don’t use your main Disk for capturing or to keep the render files. Save these in NOT JOURNLED disk. Allow journaling only in your System HD.

The truth is that there is not much point to export an interlaced movie from a progresive film. What you are getting is an interlaced movie where the two fields are the same and although shouldn’t be much difference with the progresive one, is posible what your composser says and you get some comb effect in the picture. In the end your movie is undergoing a process that, I think, is unnecesary.
I would rather export progresive.

First you should look if is a problem of the camara. This you can check it fast if you got I-movie. If you get the movie in I-movie, then your camara is OK and your Firewire cable too.
If you don’t get the picture in the FC capture window sounds like a Firewire issue. Check in the Audio/video settings. In Device Control set it to FireWire or FireWire basic.
If doesn’t work go to the Capture Preset and do a duplicate of the preset you are using so the new preset will recognice your camara.
You must have your camera open before to open FC oderwise FC may not recognice the external device even if you try the “refresh A/V device”.
