You must create a new file anyway. You can keep the same TC. You must create a sequence that start with the same TC that you clip. You can set it in the prefferences. As deafault all the sequences start by 1.00.00.00, but you can change it. Another way is to copy and paste the TC of your original clips to the news using the QT player. I do not remember quite well but I think you must open the Properties (Com J) select the TC and pick “Extract”. You will get your TC channel in a new window. Then copy and in the Edit menu of the new clip select “Add to movie” (or “add to movie and Scale”). Probably you should eliminate the original TC (Deete in the properties window). Sorry I not sure about the last step. I used this technic to set audio in QT movies without sound. I guess should work fine with the TC because is a similar kind of data channel.

Yes you can do it in FC. just bring the audio to the time line and export as a .mov (only audio). Set your audio prefferences before to export. You can do it too exporting as .aiff from FC or from QT setting the datarate to 48Khz and 16bits and two discreet channels to keep the audio from your DV tapes in separated channels.Cheers,

What Bret says it works. Also you can create a 16bits gradient in PS and render in a 10b uncompressed time-line. Never DV.

Hi Uli I need your adviced. I film a lot of images of trees and jungle and plenty of foliage. I use a Sony PD-170, sdo I get a lot of noise in this class of shots. I;ve tried the Boris CC3 noise filter but its mudds the image a lot. I’ve also tried when exporting to Compressor (the most of my jobs I finish as DVDs) the noise reduction filter (RGB and all channels) but even if I set it to the mininum the picture loose definition. What would you recommend me. As I told you I shot in DVCam but I color correct in FC and I also apply some chroma sweetening or deartifacter (MagicBullet) then I export from a 8b or 10b Unc time-line).

Yes, its seems that keeps the speed atribute. Other wise you would get 100%. No much to suggest you. When I get problems with FC (I mean when I know that the problems are not from the system), I open a new project and I select and dragg everything from the brownser of the old to the new project. The most of the times I get rid off this kind of problems.

But I’m having an strange issue with FC. I CC with the 3 bands filter controling the levels with the Luma and Chroma range frame by frame and when every one have the green circle I render. Then I review the clip and many of the rames got the yellow circle again. Why?

Will you have tried almost everything, But I wouldn’t miss to pass DiskWarrior or Techtools. They have save me from a heart attack many times.

PD: I have a G5 2x2GHz from 2004. Now its works great but for the first few months my computer hangs around 20 times a day. wasn’t only my problem. in internet was hundred of people getting mad for the same problem. Apple never sayd a word about that, only replaced the computers. As soon as i started to use techtools the problem disapeared. -
Did you try to set ‘constant speed’ in the motion tab?
