progressive sequence
hi all,
I’m was working with some footage in a progressive sequence, 16:9 anamorphic, 25 fps DV PAL.
Field dominance is set to “lower”. Works fine, looks good on the monitor, but now the compositor says he needs a ‘no fields’ setting render from this clip to work with it in After Effects, he sees “combing” in the film as it is now on his computer screen.
Question: is this the right way to do it, the “no field dominance” option I mean.
Next to that: is there a capture setting to capture anamorphic 16:9 progressive material as DV PAL, no fields?Any help will be very much appreciated.

The truth is that there is not much point to export an interlaced movie from a progresive film. What you are getting is an interlaced movie where the two fields are the same and although shouldn’t be much difference with the progresive one, is posible what your composser says and you get some comb effect in the picture. In the end your movie is undergoing a process that, I think, is unnecesary.
I would rather export progresive.
