Hi Roland,
That worked thanks! My software was up to date so it wasn’t that so I first emptied the image cache and nothing changed so I purged the memory & cache and still nothing. I restarted the software and presto random image disappears!
Cheers,

Thanks Aldo, this fixed it for me too.
I ejected my time machine disk and I also cancelled a transfer that was happening to my media drive (a USB1 flash drive that was transferring about 8mb a minute!! Who knows this may have also impacted it) and now instant playback.

As above, or it depends – are you wanting to invest in good software for encoding? If so, what platform are you on? If on Mac, I’d recommend either Episode (https://www.telestream.net) or Compressor that comes with Final Cut Studio. The obvious answer is that you need to compress the video prior to uploading.

September 28, 2011 at 11:25 pm in reply to: Luminance change between OSX 10.5 and OSX 10.7 rendersWell that explains it. Not the logic behind it, but explains the reason!! I don’t want to upgrade my Mac Pro to 10.7 yet as there are lot of plugins I own that don’t support it. Upgrading it to 10.6 will fix it? I never purchased 10.6 so not sure how I’d go about grabbing a copy.
Color management is turned off for the project – if I turn it on will this lock the gamma?

July 29, 2010 at 4:00 am in reply to: Color profiles with After Effects / Photoshop / IllustratorNever mind, I sorted it out…
I was saving the file in Illustrator as CMYK, not RGB – AE doesn’t like that. In Illustrator I went File > Document Color Mode > RGB Color. Now all colors match perfectly in AE.

Has anyone found an answer to this? Print to video doesn’t help as this is if you’re going to tape – we’re talking about file exporting. I have selected all clips after the last clip (even though there aren’t any) and hit the delete key, marked an out point and exported with the same problem – about 13 minutes of black added at the end.

Can’t offer a solution, but definitely experiencing the same problem! Very frustrating. Old tape or not it shouldn’t warrant a 10 second audio delay!

April 6, 2008 at 12:03 pm in reply to: Audio Latency w/ Intensity video & Edirol firewire audio monitoring? Not sure my self but will be watching this space to know if anyone knows. I did speak to a tech support guy from Black Magic and he told me that the Motu would sync perfectly with my card (it’s an Intensity card so should be in the same basket as yours). The edirol looks very similar to the Motu.
Cheers

I’d love to say yes, but unfortunately I ended up having to painfully go through the timeline working out the name of the offline clip, finding it in the bins, relinking the media clip to the correct file. I have read in other forums that it is a known issue with FCP and not just V6, V5 as well! Don’t know what you guys think but this is a SERIOUS flaw of Final Cut and one that they really need to get sorted ASAP.

Doesn’t ESC work? If not you can delete them pretty simply – right click the digitized clip and click “Make offline” where you can delete the file from your disk, then push delete with the clip selected and it’ll go. Hope this helps.
