    I’m having issues with colors not matching using After Effects.

    I have an illustrator file (using sRGB IEC61966-2.1) and a Photoshop file using the same working space. I’ve saved the Illustrator file as an illustrator document and the photoshop as an RGB jpeg and imported them both into After Effects.

    Ok, so in Illustrator and Photoshop, the blue logo color is:
    RGB = R:0, G:73, B:144
    CMYK = C:100%, M:72%, Y:0%, K:18%

    However when I import these two files into After Effects, the Photoshop file retains the correct RGB, but the illustrator file converts the blue to:

    RGB = R:12, G:38, B:119

    It’s doing my head in – anyone know why the colors aren’t the same as in Illustrator?

    Thanks in advance,

    Phil

    Never mind, I sorted it out…

    I was saving the file in Illustrator as CMYK, not RGB – AE doesn’t like that. In Illustrator I went File > Document Color Mode > RGB Color. Now all colors match perfectly in AE.
