  • FCP adding black at end of an export

Does anybody know why my FCP whenever I export a film as a dv stream, it exports it ok, but it adds like 5 minutes of black on the end, even though my in and out points do not give an inclination that I want black to be exported.

Has anybody else had this problem and if so how do you rectify?

    Thanks in advance

Perhaps there is a stray clip somewhere after your desired sequence has ended? I have found in the past that even with my in and out points set, if there is a random audio clip or something way out in the boondocks of the timeline, it will include that clip at the end, with all the black in between.

    File>Print to Video>Trailer

    Uncheck “Trailer”

Has anyone found an answer to this? Print to video doesn’t help as this is if you’re going to tape – we’re talking about file exporting. I have selected all clips after the last clip (even though there aren’t any) and hit the delete key, marked an out point and exported with the same problem – about 13 minutes of black added at the end.
