    Thanks Ralph,

It’s been another good year on the pastures for us Vegas people – may the next one bring all that we deserve ….. well, perhaps even a little more than that!

    Happy Christmas everyone.

    Hi Mahesh

I just sent the veg – hope it’s close to what you’re after.

Regarding music, Acid is a great place to start – I would play around with it to get familiar with it. You sort of “paint” music along each track, and you can audition another loop whilst listening to the timeline.

You can also change tempo, keys plus volume and pan changes just like Vegas.

Let me know if you need further help or tips …

The file may simply have been the .sfk file, which vegas needs to display the waveform.

Ther term Intermediate is misleading here. The Cineform files are top quality and are used for rendering for final output. As with any renders, any CC etc will be incorporated into the rendered files, whether these are to MPEG2 for DVD, m2t for PTT or any other format.

Cineform give you the option of keeping the m2t file or discarding it once the “intermediate” avi is created.

If you’re talking about going out on DVD, then it will finish up as MPEG2 either way.

By using Vegas rather than DVDA to do the MPEG2 conversion, you do have more options such as two pass rendering, but if you have a video duration which is likely to be near the limit, you need to work out the bitrate carefully, or leave it to DVDA using the Optimise/Fit to disk function to do this.

I would first create the two extremes – mouths fully closed and fully open, then maybe 4 or 5 in between to give smooth movement,

Organise these stills on timeline using trial and error to get roughly the right speed from closed to open, then back to closed. Make a movie of this “cycle”, then this can be used repeatedly to synch to the lyrics – if a faster or slower syllable occurs, Ctrl drag the edge to speed up or slow down.

This is just a rudimentary method – you can get more sophisticated by creating different shaped mouths for “eeeee” or “ooooo” sounds, but that’s up to your artistic inclination!

First, set preview to Best/Full. This will allow max quality at the full video size.

After capturing pngs or jpgs, you may need to deinterlace in a paint program if there is movement.

Have you tried disabling device control – maybe Vegas is looking for a camera/tape ..

That’s great Doug – I always get a kick when an effect can be done with plain ole
