I cant get Canopus ADVC100 to connect to Vegas 6c.
The ADVC is ok as it works on another machine.
    Driving me nuts.
All settings in Vegas Options are OK.
It tells me “no device connected” in the vegas capture prog.

Has anyone else had this problem. Is it a common one?

    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thx

I just tried capturing with Vegas 5d…no better- a big zero.
So maybe its the firewire card, or is it the mobo? The FWire cable’s ok.
What checks can I do on the card.
    Thx geoffjak

Can you try connecting a camera? See if the card recognizes that. You could always install a new card to help see if it might be a card issue.

Have you tried disabling device control – maybe Vegas is looking for a camera/tape ..

    Thanks for the replies .
Device Control? Didn’t work. Got a guy coming in today.I’ll pass on what he sees [and fixes I hope].

I’ve had this exact problem when using an ADVC with onboard firewire adapter.

If you have access to a seperate PCI firewire card, I would try that.

    Cheers
