Where can I find…
Posted by Doug Lewis on December 8, 2005 at 1:26 pm….a looping background of snowflakes falling with a black background (good quality). I need this to be the background for song lyrics on a video I’m doing for our church. Thanks for any direction.

December 9, 2005 at 2:24 amFailing anything better, you can use the Vegas Noise Generator – Starry Sky.
Change the start colour to white and use pan crop to move from bottom to top of frame, so that the snow “falls”.
Experiment with speed/duration and other settings.

December 10, 2005 at 12:50 pmIf you know someone with Particle Illusion get them to create an effect loop such as you require and record it out to tape, or file. There are a number of PI ’emitter’ libraries available that have many different types of ‘snow’. From light gentle snow falls to large gently falling slow flakes to blizzards even. If you want it stylized PI can even create the flakes with their crystaline structures. All very pretty and easy to plonk down over a black background, with quality to boot. If you get stuck post back here.

December 11, 2005 at 5:32 amPeter, it worked! I did 4 different 10 second versions and dissolved them into each other with a 5 second dissolve. I copied and pasted the set of 4 until I had about 5 minutes of falling snow. It turned out pretty good. Thanks for the suggestion!
